ELIZABETH JEAN PETERS (FERRIES) January 4, 1899 - February 8, 2003 Peacefully and with dignity, Elizabeth passed away on February 8, 2003 at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 104 years. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted daughter Mary DePape; her grand-children, Joanne (Ozzie) Rempel, Wanda (Kim) Wright, Brent DePape, Carla (Brian) Hatherly, Darcy (Yolanda) DePape, Trevor (Laurie) DePape, Nancy Gordon Hatt, Jim Peters Jr.; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, both here and in Scotland. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Captain Joseph Peters of the Winnipeg Fire Department (1956), her son Jimmy (1998), her son-in-law Dr. Bert DePape (1994), and her 11 siblings. Elizabeth was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1921 to be with Joe, also from Scotland, whom she married the same year. They resided in the West End of Winnipeg for 35 years, where her children, Jimmy and Mary were raised. After her husbands death, she moved to Norwood, living independently until the age of 98. She moved to Riverview Health Centre where she resided for the last five years. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of CD1 for their care and compassion during her stay. A memorial service will be held at the Riverview Health Centre on Tuesday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Glen Horst officiating. Committal to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. P.
